At SBXi, our mission is to empower MIT Alumni founders with the resources and capital to create large, impactful companies across any sector.
We are jointly backed by eight firms and write $10K-$100K checks on SAFEs and $100K-$1M checks when there’s a qualifying term-sheet we can match.

We offer community building, networking opportunities, and other events. With that said, It’s up to you how involved you want to be with the fund. There are no required programs or events to attend.

Through various initiatives, we will try to expose you to investors, customers, mentors, and other founders.
Our Team
Robert Harrington
Robert joined SBXi in 2023 and is the Director of Operations, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to SBXi, he co-founded a start-up in the real estate space after beginning his career on the Interest Rate Derivatives Desk at GFI Group in New York City.
Robert holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College, where he was a group leader for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Massachusetts Bay. Outside of work, he enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, and surfing. He is regularly on campus and hosts office hours both virtually and in person every Tuesday for any MIT alumni or student interested in learning more about the fund. Feel free to sign up here.
